Would there ever be a scenario where you wouldn't want to include a pixel even if the center is covered? ie a really thin triangle that stretches to the center but really constitutes a tiny fraction of the pixel.

I would think that if the pixel covers the center you would always want to include it. It seems like more of a hardware limitation as I don't see any better alternative without just not lighting a pixel.
