I am not so sure about that FACT...
Tetrahedral meshes have an average valence of 3. - 4 vertices. - 6 edges. - 12 half edges. - Average valence = 12/4 = 3
Simple Cube meshes have an average valence of 4.5 - 8 vertices. - 18 edges. - 36 half edges. - average number of edges exiting a vertex: 36/8 = 4.5
That fact probably holds better for less trivial meshes.
Would anyone like to come up with some mathematical criteria that guarantees that the FACT holds?

Tetrahedral Meshes

Larger Meshes
That fact probably holds better for less trivial meshes.
Question?
