In class we used a sound clip as an example of a 1D signal; what other common things/concepts can be thought of as a 1D signal? How about a 2D signal?

I was not very sure of this but if a function which can be represented in one domain (for example time) can be specified as a 1D signal. Intensity can be taken as 1D signal.
