So what exactly do you do with this information after you've taken these samples? If you just have these samples and aren't increasing the number of samples then what operations does this precomputation make more efficient in the long term amortized cost?

Just want to clarify.. do we first have a regular blue noise pattern, then adjust it by taking the importance into account?

Would using this method cause a loss of detail if there are 'bright' specks in the dark regions? Or does the method of importance adequately control for that
