Is there feasible way to render underwater scenes in real time since the surface is continually changing now that we have hardware accelerated ray tracing? Or is that still beyond our processing capabilities

If we did need an accurate real-time ray trace of how the surface is changing, I wonder if there is a way to optimize calculations by formulating deltas of the surface to changes in refractions of the water.
