Large curvature => drastic change in shape?
how can we define what is a "large" curvature? Isn't this very subjective and arbitrary?
How is this "contribute" defined?
Is there a metric that can measure how close your mesh is to the original shape?
What does a large curvature imply and why it's important?
How can we measure curvature?
With an implicit representation, there are precise ways to measure curvature at any given point on a curve. However, I'm guessing that in general, for a mesh, one would have to use some sort of approximate techniques?
Can there be use of algorithms that convert the base shape representation?.(eg. Convert a triangle mesh into a quad mesh?)
